10k

i'm still in shock that i loved the run so much. the whole day was great. Orb made me feel like it was birthday and took really good care of me. highlights:
1. Dot shouting, "Go Mommy GO!' at the finish line
2. Being surprised that the race was over. I thought I had another mile to go because my gps was all screwy. But when I saw the kids and Orb, I was like, "Hi guys! Dot! Bee! Hi!" Orb thought it was funny how i was just running along and didn't really seem winded.
3. my 10k race started fifteen minutes before the 17k. So while I was running, a lot of the speedy 17k racers caught up to me. Such nice people. As the passed me, they said things like, "you can do it!" "half way there!" or silly things like, "why do we do this?" It was so amazing to see the shape these people were in. Their legs! Beautiful.
4. I can totally see the attraction to the running community. It's got something. I would love to run with someone next race.
5. I rolled my ankle in the first 5 minutes and it's sore now. nothing major, just annoying.
6. Woodside is gorgeous. Take the 280 and get off the Woodside exit. enjoy.
7. Can't wait to continue my training for the half.
8. I think I'm sold on trail running races. Mostly because their races take place on Saturday.
9. iphone ran out of batteries so no pictures of me. who cares!
9. pictured below is the elevation gain. this florida girl was shot around the 6k. but loved the down hill of course

  1. I'm so proud of you! I wish I were there to cheer you on. Running is exhilarating especially when you get in the flow or as many people call it, "the zone". Anyways, Congrats on running the 10k and good luck with your 1/2 marathon training.

  2. Way to go! I am impressed, mostly because I hate running. And yes, Woodside is beautiful!

  3. Good Job! It is nice running with a partner, I think it helps with pacing and on long runs boredom.

  4. So awesome! I'm impressed that it was a trail run. I don't know much about trail runs except that it seems like I would be rolling my ankles left and right!! Good to know that they're runs are usually on Saturdays. It's so annoying how most Bay area regular runs are Sundays!
